The Pennsylvania State University (“Penn State” or the “University”) has contracted with Honorlock to provide the University online proctoring services. When you are taking an online exam using HonorLock, and depending upon your specific circumstances and the circumstances of your exam, the Honorlock solution may capture your video, audio, screen, and web surfing particulars to protect academic integrity. The information collected by Honorlock will only be used for legitimate educational purposes, including specifically, to verify your identity and ensure that an exam is being taken fairly, and is not permitted to use or disclose your information except for the purpose of providing online proctoring services pursuant to its agreement with Penn State.
The agreement between Honorlock and Penn State requires Honorlock to provide its services in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), and Honorlock must implement safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access and disclosure, as specified in University Policy, AD53, Privacy Policy and University Policy, AD95, Information Assurance and IT Security.
